Ingredients for 4 roses:

1 sheet of puff pastry

2 tablespoons of peach marmalade
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 red apple
½ lemon  (the juice)
icing sugar

Preparation time:

Prep: 15 min
Cook: 30 min
Total time: 45 min

Directions:

Preheat oven to 180°C/ 355°F.

Prepare a little cooking pot with water and juice of half a lemon. Wash the apple and cut it in half.

Remove the core and slice the apple into very thin slices. Put the slices in the water an cook them for about 2 minutes, until slightly tender and flexible.
Drain the apples into a colander

Whisk the sugar and the cinnamon in a little cup.
Cut the duff pastry into 4 equal longs slices. Spread the marmalade over the surface and sprinkle a bit of sugar and cinnamon over it.

Now overlap the apple slices along one half of the pastry slice with the peel side facing out. Fold the other part of the pastry slice over the apples.

Take one end of the pastry slice and roll it over to the other end, to get a form of a rose.

Put the rose into a greased muffin tin and continue with the other slices.

Bake the apple roses for about 30 minutes.

Let them cool down and sprinkle them with some icing sugar.
