Original Italian Basil Pesto

Once you have tried to make your own Italian Pesto you will never go back to the finished product from the supermarkets. It is very easy to prepare and very aromatic with the fresh basil.
60g of fresh basil leaves
1 clove garlic
75ml of Italian olive oil
70g of Parmigiano Reggiano
40g of pine nuts 
salt and pepper

Total time: 10 min


Wash the basil leaves and let them dry completely on some kitchen paper. 

Put the garlic with some salt and pepper into the mortar and begin to crush it with the pestle. 

Add the basil leaves and press them to get a shiny green texture. Put the pine nuts and the Parmigiano Reggiano into the mortar and continue working the ingredients with the pestle.

Finally add the olive oil and stir until you get a creamy and homogeneous sauce.

Adjust the seasoning if necessary and serve the Pesto with Pasta. Drizzle olive oil over it and decorate with some fresh basil and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
