Fluffy German Waffles


These classical German Waffles are fluffy inside and crispy outside!! In Germany we use to serve them with whipped cream, icing sugar, ice cream ore fresh fruits... 

For this recipe you need a waffle iron, which costs more ore less 15€.

Ingredients for 8 waffles:

100g margarine
100g sugar
200g flour
200ml milk
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 packet of vanilla sugar
2 medium eggs
a pinch of salt
a pinch of cinnamon & some orange zest (if you want)

Preparation time:


Prep: 15 min
Cook: 15 min
Total time: 30 min


Directions:  
Whisk in a large mixing bowl the margarine with the sugar, a packet of vanilla sugar, the orange zest and a pinch of salt. Add the eggs and continue stirring, until creamy

Put the baking powder and the flour together. Gradually add the milk and the flour by turn to the eggs, stirring to combine, until smooth.

 
Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions. Pour half ladle of the mixture into the waffle iron and close. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, until golden brown. 

Serve the waffles with ice cream, icing powder or marmalade, or any other ingredient, as desired.
